JOHANNESBURG - The ANC manifesto will address lessons learnt and come up with better solutions.
That's the promise from provincial convener and Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi.
The party is launching its manifesto in Diepsloot faced with declining support,
and unhappiness over lack of services.
Party Gauteng provincial convener Panyaza Lesufi said the manifesto shows that they have learned from their mistakes.
"This manifesto will see the hallmark of it is to say we have learned from our mistakes. The hallmark of it is that we have accepted the limitations, the capacity, the leadership that we have deployed and some of the municipalities need assistance.
“And Emfuleni is high on the agenda. But take the 11 municipalities that are in Gauteng. If you isolate Emfuleni in Merafong, we've got nine solid municipalities that are run by the African National Congress in partnership with other coalition partners.
“That alone demonstrates the desire, the ability, the skill and the talent for us to run these municipalities.
“There's a municipality, it's a stone's throw away, called Rand West, with two consecutive clean audits. The ability to know where you have made a mistake will be demonstrated here, where the President outlined that we know where we have made a mistake at leadership level, at infrastructure level, at capacity level, and therefore this manifesto that we are launching today is rectifying those limitations,” Lesufi said.
