ANC sticks to 11 May deadline for dual members

JOHANNESBURG - With the election date now announced, ANC Secretary-General Fikile Mbalula has reiterated his ultimatum to members holding dual membership with the South African Communist Party (SACP).

He has set the deadline for their decision on which party will get their vote to be 11 May.

"We are done talking about the SACP and other political parties. We are focused. And we are acting on our decisions. We have had a National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting. The SACP matter was processed. And we are acting on that," he said. 

Mbalula said the decision of the ANC has been overwhelmingly endorsed by structures in 54 regions of the ANC.
