JOHANNESBURG - 11 Anti-Gang Unit members face charges of murder, assault, kidnapping, torture, and defeating the ends of justice following the death of alleged gangster Wade Price.
Ten of the police officers have been denied bail.
Since their arrest, they have been kept at the Bellville Police Station.
The State alleges they caused the death of Manenberg gang member Wade Price on 4 December.
They're also accused of assaulting three of their fellow gang members.
With this being a Schedule 6 bail application, the onus was on the 11 AGU officers to prove a case for their release.
Nine men will be held in Brandvlei Prison and one woman in Worcester until their next court appearance on 29 January next year.
