JOHANNESBURG - As South Africa hosts the continent's first G20 leaders' Summit, the United Nations is calling for an end to Africa's exclusion from key global institutions.
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres made these remarks on the eve of the summit.
Guterres said inequality has been a cancer to society and commended South Africa for commissioning the inequality report.

This call comes after the release of the G20 Global Inequality Report, which was initiated by the South African Presidency.
The report, released a few weeks ago, reveals that 83 percent of countries have high levels of inequality.
The secretary-general of the UN spoke on climate change and the actions that need to be taken.
