CAPE TOWN - The search for a new Impeachment Committee evidence leader is on ice, for now.
A court challenge by the EFF and the African Legal Professionals Association must play out first in the High Court in Cape Town before the committee can proceed with a new appointment.
Advocate Thandazani Mandonsela's nomination has been rescinded after President Cyril Ramaphosa's objection, and that's the decision the EFF wants the court to rule on.
While this latest court bid is considered by the High Court, MPs are also waiting for its ruling on Ramaphosa's review of the independent panel's report on the Phala Phala farm theft.
