Basic Education minister warns about pens-down parties

PRETORIA - With the end of the 2023 matric exams, there’s concern about ‘pens down’ parties that could see excessive drinking.

Basic Education Minister Angie Motshekga has cautioned not only the matrics but also parents to be extra vigilant and safe.

Meanwhile, with just six matric papers still to be written, the Basic Education Department says this year's exams have been a success.

The department says no major issues have been reported and no papers leaked.
