JOHANNESBURG - ActionSA has said simply delivering basic services should not be seen as an achievement.
The party is unveiling its 2026 local government manifesto in Johannesburg.
Mary Phadi is a Nkangala district municipality candidate.
She said their focus is on fixing the municipalities behind ongoing service delivery failures.
"Giving people a service delivery is not an exception; it's not an achievement. People deserve water. What makes us unique is that we are saying that let us fix the broken municipalities that have caused us to be here after many years of democracy in our country.
"Today we are going to emphasise, this is the second time by the way, exchanges is contesting the local government elections and we've already proven ourselves where we have a mayoral candidate but today it's about to re-emphasise our key points in our policies to say we cannot sit back and do nothing when our communities need us most."
