PRETORIA - Bergview College has parted ways with its principal, Jaco Pieterse.
He was falsely implicated in the rape of 7-year old pupil, Cwecwe.
Although the NPA declined to prosecute due to a lack of evidence, the school confirmed their separation by mutual agreement.
Afriforum's private prosecution unit spokesperson, Barry Bateman says Pieterse says the decision to leave the school was because of the 'massive disinformation'.
"This massive disinformation campaign culminated in him being falsely accused and linked to a claimed rape at school, which was preceded by protests at school, and his life being threatened.
"He was essentially being forced out of his home town. His presence at school became untenable, and that was agreed upon by both parties, and he parted ways," Bateman said
Pieterse, represented by Afriforum, now seeks legal action against politicians who publicly linked him to the rape.
Bateman says he hopes that there will be accountability against those who make false claims against someone.
He says cases have been opened and that investigating officers have been assigned.
