JOHANNESBURG - The National Consumer Commission has announced another vehicle recall, this time affecting BMW South Africa and Stellantis.
BMW is recalling 75 of its 1 and 2 Series, as well as X1 and X2 models sold this year.
It's citing a faulty seat belt that may fail to lock during sudden braking or a rollover, posing a serious injury risk.

Owners are urged to visit BMW’s online service portal or contact a dealership for a free replacement.
Meanwhile, Opel Astra models produced between 2004 and 2015 are being recalled.
That's due to a defective airbag inflator that could rupture during deployment, sending metal fragments towards occupants.
The NCC says these are critical safety issues and urges affected motorists to act immediately.
