Braamfontein taxi violence | Santaco concerned about trigger-happy members

JOHANNESBURG - The SA National Taxi Council is worried about trigger-happy members within its ranks.

It says it has raised the issue of taxi violence on numerous occasions.

The council was speaking after the deaths of three people in Braamfontein in Joburg.

Among the dead is an innocent student who was caught in the crossfire.

"The council is quite concerned. the situation and relation to violence is very rife," sand Santaco's Rebecca Phala.

"Just last year during Transport Month we saw the council president calling a prayer day against violence, GBV and other social ills."
