Calls grow for arrests in Tembisa Hospital looting

JOHANNESBURG - Pressure is mounting to arrest the culprits in the looting of Tembisa Hospital and the mastermind of the murder of Babita Deokaran. 

Human rights activists and the Organisation Undoing Tax Abuse have demonstrated outside the hospital, declaring it an active crime scene.

Not only have properties been searched and assets seized to recoup the R2-billion that was looted, but criminal charges have been laid against former Gauteng Health CFO, Lerato Madyo.

The Hawks have confirmed that Deokaran's murder is still under investigation and that it's identified suspects who may have ordered the hit.
