JOHANNESBURG - Young futures are soaring in Pietermaritzburg.
Fuze Aviation Academy is hosting a two-day Career Day at Oribi Airport. The event gives high school pupils a chance to explore careers in aviation.
For many, it’s their first real glimpse into a field often seen as out of reach.
Fuze student Ayanda Zulu said access to information is key to helping young people pursue aviation careers.
"What I can say about someone who's at home right now is to actually get as much information as you can in all possible careers out there and then after getting all the information you need, you can decide and also about pursuing your parents," Zulu said.
"I know sometimes it's just not easy telling your parents you want to do this because they're going to tell you about the money, about the funding and opportunities. But once you have gathered all the information, then try to give them that information, it will be easy to persuade them."
