Cat's got a firm grip on Matlala's tongue

JOHANNESBURG - There were no tender questions for Vusimuzi 'Cat' Matlala on Tuesday, as the Madlanga Commission quizzed him about the R228-million SAPS-Medicare24 contract.

Matlala refused to answer questions, citing his right, once again, not to incriminate himself.

"I do not want to engage in anything that has to do with the SAPS contract in public before I deal with it in court," Matlala told the Madlanga Commission.

Matlala's testimony also focused on his relationship with Hangwani Maumela, a central figure in the alleged looting of Tembisa Hospital.

Matlala told the Madlanga Commission that their shared passion for luxury sports cars brought them together in 2015 or 2016.
