Cele vows to rid Westbury of gangs

JOHANNESBURG - The police ministry continues to take measures aimed at restoring some peace to Westbury.

Police Minister Bheki Cele led a crime prevention imbizo in the gang-riddled area.

He says his forces will ensure that life becomes bearable in the community again.

Thirteen people were shot over four days last week.

The violence erupted after an alleged gang kingpin was killed.

"We are here, these forces are going to saturate this place," Cele said.

"We can't have the community where women and children [are] chased by those greedy human beings to chase them and kill them."
