CAPE TOWN - The surge in gun violence, particularly on the Cape Flats, has been debated in Parliament.
Gang violence has killed hundreds of people in recent months.

On Tuesday, women from Overcome Heights near Muizenberg picketed outside Parliament.
Some chained themselves to the gates, hoping to attract President Cyril Ramaphosa's attention to their plight.
Ayesha Ismail reports that the women returned on Friday, following more deadly shootings in the area.
