Civil rights | US slammed for bullying Africa
DURBAN - The US should not dictate to Africa who it should form relationships with and who its trade partners should be.
That's the message from KZN Premier Nomusa Dube-Ncube.
She's attending the Rainbow Push Coalition Annual Convention at the University of Chicago.
The organisation was founded by Civil Rights Activist, Reverend Jesse Jackson.
"Reverend JJ played an important role in us attaining our democracy," she said.
"It's important for us that we are here with him and with the organisation.

"There are number of countries here with an aim of joining ties with different organisations.
"We also spoke at length here about how the congress, in particular in the United States, needs to push and support us in our view that the American government should not be dictating as to who our friends should be," she said.
"But rather, we need support from all the countries so that Africa as a whole is able to achieve its objectives of trading with whomever we want to trade with but also ....with an aim of alleviating poverty inequality."
