JOHANNESBURG - A week is a long time in politics.

Floyd Brink has made a dramatic return as Joburg city manager.

On Thursday, the Joburg council approved his appointment, despite being removed last year after the high court ruled his original appointment was irregular.

Ekurhuleni also has a new City Manager.

Amid these new appointments, the future of the Gauteng and KZN premiers hangs in the balance.
