Concerns raised over frequent mass shootings in the country

PRETORIA - The shooting of four people in the early hours of New Year in Soshanguve's Jukulyn is a story unfortunately not unfamiliar.

A few years ago, two patrons were shot and killed at Poppy's restaurant in Melville. In the same year, partygoers were shot at from the M1 in Johannesburg's downtown, with  eleven people landing in hospital.

ENCA spoke to William Els, Senior training coordinator at the Institute for Security Studies,

to help with unpacking whether there are any patterns to these attacks.
