COP28 | SA calls on developed nations to honour commitments

DUBAI - COP28 President Sultan Al Jaber says the phase-out of fossil fuels is essential, but must be done fairly.

He was speaking at the UN Climate Summit in Dubai as technical details on deals are being ironed out.

Environment Minister Babara Creecy is urging developed nations to honour past financial commitments.

South Africa will also oppose the EU's carbon border tax that charges tariffs based on emissions.
