Cope's Murunwa Makwarela elected Tshwane Mayor
TSHWANE - The Congress of the People's Murunwa Makwarela has been elected the City of Tshwane's new executive mayor.
Makwarela beat the DA's Cilliers Brink to the mayoral chains.
In his acceptance speech, the new mayor said both provincial and national governments will be called in to help rebuild the capital city.
Tshwane's new mayor says the state of the metro's finances has revealed a city in distress.
He's called on all sectors to assist with returning to good governance.
