MARABASTAD - The SAPS and its crime-fighting partners have seized counterfeit goods worth more than R9million in Marabastad, Gauteng.
More than 10,000 fake items were confiscated during a multidisciplinary operation.
The items include branded sportswear, footwear, cosmetics and cellphone accessories.
The operation forms part of a nationwide crackdown on the illegal trade and distribution of counterfeit goods.
SAPS said counterfeit goods can pose health and safety risks to consumers, while causing financial losses to legitimate businesses and the economy.
