JOHANNESBURG - The Chairperson of the National Joint Operational and Intelligence Structure (NATJOINTS), Lieutenant-General Mosikili, says the national operational plan is fully activated.
She was speaking during a media briefing on Monday, outlining the readiness of SAPS ahead of the 30 June protest against undocumented migrants in the country.
During the briefing, Mosikili affirmed that the country is under maximum operational readiness.

She said national joint operational and intelligence structures, provincial joint operational and intelligence structures, and all operational command centres will be functioning on a 24-hour basis.
” Our operators are on the ground across all nine provinces. The first responder task with responding to public gatherings and any emerging incidents is fully deployed on a high alert. Specialised operational units are ready to respond at any moment.”
Alongside the deployment of on-the-ground boots, Mosikili said the air wing has been roped in to provide aerial surveillance and operational support wherever it's required in a multidisciplinary format.
“Our intelligence structures continue to monitor development in real time, and operational commanders are receiving continuous updates to ensure a swift decision-making process, which is expected to be decisive,” Mosikili added.
Mosikili said the government is ready, and so are law enforcement agencies, to secure a lawful and peaceful demonstration.
