JOHANNESBURG - The Vanderbijlpark Magistrate’s Court is expected to deliver judgment today in the bail application of Keneilwe Shalaba, a mother accused of selling her son.
Shalaba allegedly pocketed R75,000 when her two-year-old son disappeared.
Initially, she claimed the child had been kidnapped, but it later emerged she may have sold him.
During her bail application, it was revealed she also attempted to extort a R40,000 ransom from the child's father.
Shalaba faces charges under the Prevention and Combating of Trafficking in Persons Act.
