Court hears Kelly Smith did not actively look for Joshlin

SALDANHA BAY - The court has heard how Kelly Smith did not actively participate in any of the searches for her missing child Joshlin Smith. 

That's the evidence given by the detective who investigated the disappearance of the little girl. 

Detective Meyer Milstein gave details of his observations as the state's fourth witness.

He has explained to the court the extensive searches conducted for Johslin Smith. Over 300 police comprising specialised units within SAPS were involved.  

Drone technology was also used, the canine unit, people and cars from Cape Town. The SA Navy also assisted in the searches.

The detective says despite following up on Information and leads they did not make any headway in finding the child.

Johslin disappeared in February last year.  

Her mother and two others are on trial for kidnapping and trafficking the child. They've all pleaded not guilty.
