JOHANNESBURG - The Johannesburg Magistrates' Court has blocked controversial businessman Brown Mogotsi from getting the names of state witnesses.
This follows claims that his wife has already intimidated a witness.
Mogotsi faces charges for allegedly faking his own assassination in Vosloorus last November.
While his defence argues that redacted statements hamper their trial preparation, the court ruled that witness safety comes first.

Mogotsi's legal battle continues to intensify.
The state is also relying on video footage it claims shows him staging his own attempted assassination.
The defence, however, says it has yet to consult with Mogotsi on the footage and maintains it will argue that some of the witness statements were fabricated.
The matter has been postponed to 20 August for further disclosure of the docket.
