Crime in SA | Western Cape libraries under threat

CAPE TOWN - Some Cape Town libraries operate under difficult conditions as gang violence, theft and vandalism are the order of the day.

City officials say two bodies were found outside a Manenberg facility on Monday, while the Khayelitsha library closes for hours daily because of shootings.

Residents who rely on the facilities are pleading  for authorities to put better measures in place to safeguard them.

As officials work on improving safety, several Cape Town libraries are still battling cable theft, nearby protest action and gang shootouts.
