TSHWANE - The Democratic Alliance in Tshwane is calling for the metro to regulate private firefighters.
This comes after the party claimed that the city blocked private brigades from responding to a fire at a tyre factory in Rosslyn, Pretoria North, on Saturday.
DA Tshwane spokesperson for community safety, councillor Ally Makhafula said the party is calling for regulation and cooperation between private service providers and government firefighters.
However, the city has since disputed the claims.
The City of Tshwane's Community Safety MMC, Hannes Coetzee spoke with eNCA about the plans in place for cooperation between city and private firefighters.
