DA claims Whitfield fired for uncovering corruption

President Cyril Ramaphosa on Wednesday fired Deputy Trade, Industry and Competition Minister, Andrew Whitfield, who comes from the DA.

Whitfield did not obtain permission to travel to the United States earlier this year from the President as required, when he went to represent the DA.

But the DA has accused the President of selective outrage.

And DA leader, John Steenhuisen, has now given the president an ultimatum: fire three corruption-implicated ministers in 48 hours or face the consequences.

  • DA spokesperson, Willie Aucamp provided a perspective on this issue.
