DA returns home after US visit to 'stabilise' strained relations

CAPE TOWN - The Democratic Alliance (DA) says much work needs to be done in order to rebuild bilateral trust between South Africa and the United States of America.

This comes as the party concluded its week-long working visit to Washington, D.C.

The trip according to the DA was aimed at stabilising diplomatic relations between South Africa and the United States amidst heightened tensions.

During the visit, the party engaged with key decision-makers across Congress, the State Department, and the White House.

These discussions according to the DA were to ensure that U.S. leaders receive accurate and fact-based information regarding South Africa’s domestic landscape and the challenges our nation is currently navigating.

To discuss this further eNCA spoke to DA Spokesperson on International Relations & Cooperation and MP Emma Powell.
