Delays in audits for Ramaphosa’s cabinet

CAPE TOWN - President Cyril Ramaphosa has defended delays in completing lifestyle audits for members of his Cabinet.

He was being grilled during a Question and Answer session in Parliament.

The President took questions on the audits, the BRICS Summit and criticism of the judiciary.

Ramaphosa said the implementation of lifestyle audits has been delayed by a change in the service provider.

"Yes I do regret the delay, it should not have been as long as it is but the intent is there," Ramaphosa said.

"This process does not focus on any member of the executive solely, it focuses on all of us."

The president also painted a glowing picture of the recent BRICS Summit, saying South Africa stands to benefit handsomely.
