Dennis Bloem resigns from COPE

JOHANNESBURG - Internal disputes in Cope have led one of its long-time members to break ties with the party.

Former spokesperson Dennis Bloem quit Friday morning.

Cope has not been stable for most of its existence, with factional battles leading to significant loss of electoral support, suspensions and even expulsions.

Bloem is due to brief the media on Saturday on his reasons for leaving the party.
