ESHOWE - The body of Pope Francis lies in state at Saint Peter's Basilica until his funeral on Saturday.

The Vatican revealed yesterday that the Pope suffered a stroke that led to a coma and irreversible heart failure.

Pope Francis, who has been described as a Pontiff of many firsts, died at the age of 88 on Easter Monday.

He had made a much hoped-for appearance on Easter Sunday.
