JOHANNESBURG - The M23 rebel group has declared a ceasefire in the ongoing conflict in Eastern DRC.
This is according to a statement issued by the group's spokesperson.

The rebel group has called for the SADC peacekeeping mission, which includes SANDF troops,
to withdraw from the DRC, saying they're no longer needed.
This announcement comes amid ongoing peace talks in the region.
The decades long conflict has displaced millions of people in the east of the country.
