BUFFALO CITY - Eastern Cape Education is addressing the assault of a school pupil caught on camera and going viral.
Officials will visit the David Mama Secondary School in Buffalo City on Monday.
In videos on social media, male pupils can be seen walking behind a female schoolmate and assaulting her.
One of the boys looks directly at the camera and laughs, along with the person recording the incident.
Another video seemingly shows the same pupil sitting on a bus.
Other pupils are laughing at her and then continue to assault her after she exits the vehicle.
The provincial education department says the pupils actions are unacceptable and will be dealt with.
It will also be providing psycho-social support to the victim.
