ADDO, Eastern Cape - Municipalities are often found wanting in the aftermath of natural disasters.
In the Eastern Cape, two of the worst-performing municipalities are bearing the brunt of recent heavy rains.
Residents living in the farming communities of the Sundays River and Makana Local Municipality said they are left to fend for themselves.
Residents of Addo said that without proper drainage systems and competent municipal officials, their roads, homes, and schools will continue to be flooded.
The community of Valencia said the Sundays River Local Municipality doesn’t care about the indignity people are subjected to.
