CAPE TOWN - The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) says forensic investigator Paul O'Sullivan is undermining Parliament.
The party said O'Sullivan took an oath to answer all questions, and failing to adhere to parliament rules becomes an offence and you ought to take an accountability
The forensic investigator abruptly walked out during his testimony before the SAPS Ad Hoc Committee on Thursday.
In an exclusive interview with eNCA a day later, O'Sullivan denied having abruptly left proceedings.
He insisted that the committee exceeded the agreed upon time and that he was scheduled to leave the sitting at 1pm.
The party has laid a criminal complaint against O’Sullivan.
EFF MP Mazwi Blose said they have a duty to maintain the integrity of parliament and have a role to answer to the public.
“We cannot allow South Africa to be undermined at that level. Parliament is the highest body that holds people accountable in this country, it cannot allow it to be undermined in that level,”
Blose said he hopes police will expedite the matter and ensure that investigations are done.
O’Sullivan said the EFF can not open a case against him.
