JOHANNESBURG - The Economic Freedom Fighters want National Assembly Speaker Thoko Didiza removed.
The EFF has written to the National Assembly Deputy Speaker, Annelie Lotriet, requesting that a no-confidence motion be tabled against Didiza.
The motion, in the name of EFF leader Julius Malema, has been submitted for urgent consideration.

Amongst a list of accusations, the EFF accuses the speaker of failing to defend Parliament in the impeachment process against President Cyril Ramaphosa.
The Red Berets also accuse her of partisan political interests, disregarding legal advice obtained by her office and of bringing the standing, credibility, and authority of the National Assembly into disrepute.
