On 20 May 2026, eNCA broadcast on the public demonstrations against undocumented foreign nationals in South Africa. In one such broadcast in Qonce in the Eastern Cape, eNCA captured the moment that a Nigerian national was interrogated by two unidentified men. Following the broadcast, we uploaded a clip of the exchange onto our online platforms which was published without the requisite context or balance accompanying the broadcast.
We want to apologise for this oversight. At eNCA we always strive to exercise care and consideration in all matters, particularly in sensitive situations.
