JOHANNESBURG - Eskom has gone back on its promise to suspend blackouts for New Year's celebrations.
On Friday the utility announced that the power cuts would be suspended from 4 PM on Saturday.
However less than a day later they said this is no longer possible due to the breakdown of five generating units.
Stage 2 power cuts will continue until further notice.
