EXCLUSIVE | Charges laid over R27m Proton House deal

In an eNCA exclusive, we look at a questionable lease agreement
signed by the Johannesburg Property Company which ballooned to R27-million.

JOHANNESBURG - The City of Joburg is investigating a dubious deal that happened at Proton House.

A building used by the City of Joburg’s finance department had to be reinstated to its original state at the end of the lease agreement.

An amount of R2-million was agreed on to complete the required work.

But this suddenly ballooned to R27-million and it seems the Johannesburg Property Company which brokered the deal, did not sign a standard lease agreement.
