CAPE TOWN - The Western Cape High Court will hear an application to challenge parts of the Expropriation Act on Monday.
AfriForum, the DA, and the Institute of Race Relations want certain provisions of the Act struck down.
President Cyril Ramaphosa, Minister of Public Works, the National Assembly, the Speaker and NCOP chairperson are respondents in the matter.
AfriForum said its fight against expropriation of land without compensation
is in the interest of everyone in the country.
AfriForum’s Kallie Kriel said the case was important.
“AfriForum cannot and will not stand by and watch. That is why we have appointed a top legal team. We will not let that happen in South Africa,” Kriel said.
