Extraordinary meeting to elect new Ekurhuleni mayor postponed

JOHANNESBURG - The extraordinary meeting to elect a new Ekurhuleni mayor has been postponed until further notice.

Council Speaker Nthabiseng Tshivhenga is citing unforeseen circumstances for the delay.

Former mayor Sivuyile Ngodwana was removed from office through a motion of no confidence last week.

The ANC and the DA abstained from voting.

The Speaker survived a motion of no confidence against her.
