Family blames Somalians for brother’s disappearance

VOSLOORUS - The Kubheka family in Vosloorus is making an appeal for anyone who can assist them in locating their 27-year-old son.

Mazwi Kubheka went missing on the 2nd of April.

The family believes their son was taken after a dispute over the occupation of a spaza shop.

He took over a shop previously rented by foreigners after they were forcefully evicted by the community.

His sister, Nonhle, is asking anyone with information to come forward.

“To anyone who has seen my brother, we pleading, please help us bring him home.

“We don't know what happened, but everything points to the people who were occupying space here because they are the people who are busy asking for space from the neighbours.

“I don't know why they took my brother because they could just have asked him, they could have threatened him. The person that he is, he could have just closed the store; there was no need to take him."

Action SA have used these allegations to continue their narrative about the dangers that undocumented foreigners pose.

"I keep reminding South Africans, on the 1st of December 2016, when I was the Mayor of the city of Johannesburg, I raised the issue and the danger of allowing illegal undocumented foreign nationals in our country they started in the city of Johannesburg, if we don't do something about this cancer is going to spread. Now look at it right now, the family is missing a young man prepared to work,” said ActionSA president, Herman Mashaba.

A missing person case has been opened at a local police station.

But the family says it has never received any updates or had engagements with the investigating officer.
