PRETORIA - Suspended National Police Commissioner Fannie Masemola's matter is among several high-profile Investigating Directorate Against Corruption (IDAC) cases being reassessed.
The review follows concerns raised at the Madlanga Commission about whether the Investigating Directorate acted within its legal mandate.
This was confirmed on Thursday during a media briefing by National Director of Public Prosecutions Andy Mothibi.
Masemola faces four charges under the Public Finance Management Act linked to the controversial R360-million SAPS tender awarded to Vusimuzi "Cat" Matlala's company.

Other cases which have also gone through review included that of Crime Intelligence head, Lieutenant-General Dumisani Khumalo and six others, which saw charges being provisionally withdrawn
"The cases have been withdrawn. The provisional part is really to ensure that where there are still matters that are outstanding, we ensure that we clean them up in terms of the legal process and we will revert to the public in terms of how we have concluded those,' Mothibi said
