Festive season safety | New technology to test drunk drivers

PRETORIA - Technology is helping authorities nab dozens of motorists suspected of drunk driving.

Some of the tech includes the Mobile Alcohol Evidence Bus also known as 'the booze bus'.

It provides accurate, immediate results of blood-alcohol levels.

Tshwane Metro Police have already arrested over 50 motorists for drunk driving.

Drivers are also able to check on unpaid traffic fines in the bus.

Authorities have also set up a dedicated tactical team to investigate copper and cable theft in the City.

The TMPD says it's intensified operations are expected to last until the end of January.
