KWAZULU-NATAL - Five men who terrorised residents at the Glebelands Hostel in Umlazi, KwaZulu-Natal, will be sentenced on Monday in the Durban High Court.
They were convicted of the mass murder of nine people who refused to give up their beds after being threatened with death.
The victims were gathered in 2023, when they were shot and killed in E Block of the notorious hostel, where each of them had a bed.
Between 2014 and 2016, a gang operating in the hostel is believed to have killed hundreds of people as part of an ongoing reign of terror.
