Four injured during March and March protest

DURBAN - At least four people have been injured and several others arrested during a March and March protest in Durban.

Chaos erupted when protesters confronted asylum seekers camping on the pavement outside the Durban Refugee Reception Centre.

Scores of foreign nationals including those from the DRC have been sleeping here since May.

Marchers confront authorities over what they said is a failure to deal with crime, filth and illegal activity in their community.

Anti-illegal immigration group, March on March claim they were called in by residents to clean the streets, but tensions boiled over when police moved to disperse them.

The March and March leader Jacinta Ngobese-Zuma reiterated its call for those in the country illegally to leave immediately.
