Four men rescued after boat trapped at dam

STANDERTON - Four men have been rescued after their ski-boat became trapped at the Grootdraai Dam spillway, near Standerton in Mpumalanga.

The National Sea Rescue Institute says the boat drifted towards the dam wall after a mechanical failure.

The men were rescued unharmed.

NSRI spokesperson Craig Lambinon explained what happened to eNCA.

Lambinon reminded bathers to follow the beach safety guidelines, and practice caution around bodies of water.

The NSRI spokesperson shared some safety tips for swimmers, including ensuring children are properly supervised.
