DURBAN - Residents in Woodview, Durban, have said ongoing water shortages and other service delivery issues have left the community frustrated.
KZN is a key voting province, but residents are losing faith and questioning whether their ballot will bring change.
One such resident is Logan James, who said they are victims of broken promises.
“We are all victims of broken problems. For example, let's talk about the current situation. We have no water.
“This problem has been going on for months now, where water is shut off at 10am during the day till the next morning. Yesterday the water was shut off at 9 o'clock, and up until this morning, there has still been no water. Now, for those who have tanks, okay, they can live.
“What about those who do not have JoJo tanks? How will they be able to survive in this condition? Now, understanding it as a basic human right for us to have water, but we are not having it. So paying so much in rates, but we are not provided with the services we require. As a community leader, I want to say people are so hurt and broken with the broken promises of this current government, that people don't want to go out and vote."
