FS health officers suspended after hiring ghost employees

MANGAUNG - Four Free State health officials have been suspended over allegations that they hired ghost workers.

These include three Human Resources employees and a Clerk.

The provincial health department says the officials allegedly manipulated systems, to hire and pay ghost workers.

The probe has identified three ghost workers who were all fictitiously appointed as medical interns.

The department is not ruling out a possibility of more suspensions.

It is not clear how much the ghost workers were paid.

The Hawks are continuing with their investigations.
